Health Legislation Amendment (Regulatory Reform) Bill 2026

What the bill says it does

The purposes of this Act are— (a) to amend the Assisted Reproductive Treatment Act 2008— (i) to require registered ART providers to comply with the requirements of an approved accreditation scheme; and (ii) to amend provisions relating to the registration of registered ART providers to enable the Secretary to grant and refuse registration and to issue a certificate of registration; and (iii) to provide the Secretary with further inspection powers; and (b) to amend the Non-Emergency Patient Transport and First Aid Services Act 2003 to expand the scope of the regulation making power in relation to the application, adoption or incorporation of documents; and (c) to amend the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 to amend provisions in relation to the registration of cooling tower systems; and (d) to amend the Radiation Act 2005— (i) in relation to the disposal of radiation sources; and (ii) to create a regulatory scheme for the provision of financial assurances.
