What the bill says it does
The purposes of this Act are— (a) to make the following amendments in relation to family violence intervention orders and criminal proceedings— (i) amendments to the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 to provide for the extension or variation of family violence intervention orders in criminal proceedings; and (ii) amendments to the Criminal Procedure Act 2009— (A) to provide that those extension and variation orders are not to be made in, and are not ancillary orders for the purposes of, various appeals; and (B) to provide for information about related family violence intervention orders to be indicated in criminal proceedings; and (iii) consequential amendments to the National Domestic Violence Order Scheme Act 2016; and (b) to amend the Family Violence Protection Act 2008— (i) in relation to the extension of family violence intervention orders; and (ii) in relation to categories of information sharing entities and to clarify the purposes for which information may be shared under Part 5A of that Act and to recognise timely sharing of information as an object of that Part of that Act; and (iii) to remove the requirement for the preparation of a consolidated report under Part 11 of that Act; and (c) to amend the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and the Personal Safety Intervention Orders Act 2010 to provide for the use of electronic signatures for the purposes of those Acts; …
